Abstract

This article analyzes the main contributions of Michel Foucault to the formulation of another possible history, aiming to map central aspects in the author’s historiography that tension projects of a historiography still thought in terms of a science of man in time and epistemologically loyal to Enlightenment humanism. For that, we discuss some central concepts and categories proposed by Foucault that rearticulate the proposal of a historical archeogenealogy based on two movements: 1. the articulations between history, subject, and truth; and 2. the relationships between event, document, and file as effects of the subject’s archeogenealogical strategy. The text will unravel the reconversion of the concepts of history, historical subject, truth, event, and document/archive as the effects of a methodological strategy directly opposed to the subject of Western reason.

Rafael Araldi Vaz, Centro Universitário Facvest

PhD in Cultural History at UFSC. Professor and coordinator of the History course at Centro Universitário Facvest (UNIFACVEST). He is the author of the books Michel Foucault and the Human Sciences: transversalities, readings and appropriations and In the civilization pores: lepers and leprologists in the confined city - Santa Catarina, 1939-1952.

Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar y Soler é bacharel em Psicologia pela Universidade do Extremo Sul Catarinense (UNESC), mestre em Psicologia pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) e doutor em Filosofia pela Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS). É professor permanente do Mestrado em Educação da Universidade Regional de Blumenau (FURB) onde desenvolve pesquisas ligadas aos pensamentos de Foucault, Deleuze e Agamben.
