Abstract

Nowadays, scholars have been particularly interested in studying the processes of encounter, contact and cultural interchange. So that, in terms of ongoing research, the so-called “culturalturning-point” has been converted into a suggestive paradigm, stimulating the creation of original research fields as well as the retrieval of old issues from a new perspective. In the light of it, we intend to discuss, in this article, how some contemporary authors have interpreted the social religious dynamic in the Roman Empire, highlighting the application of the Wave Theory model to the relationship between Judaism and Christianity in the Ancient World.
