The constitution of history as science in the nineteenth century and their older models: end of an illusion or a future inheritance?

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze the relationship between the constitution of history as a scientific discipline in the nineteenth century and the old models of historiography. In this sense, this article will discussed the different conceptions of history sixteenth to the eighteenth century, the historiography of mutations early nineteenth century, and finally, the importance of Thucydides to the constitution of historical science, particularly in nineteenth-century Germany.
